Of course East Brisbane has a few interesting eateries, Indian and Japanese, and some really good fish and chips at the Fishmonger’s Wife. Just look out for them on your way back from the ferry terminal on Mowbray Park.

But if you’re just looking for a pub not far from the Suncorp stadium then Statler and Waldorf might have to do. It’s not a bad choice to make, especially as a gastro pub with ambition to burn. Celebrate or commiserate with a craft beer (or two) and a meal that will make you happy.

Or if you really can’t face going out, the in house, Boots Restaurant can serve you world class sustenance. Are eggs are your breakfast thing? Chef Alexander has eggs under eight separate dishes. Eight! Free range too. The dinner menu is also worth staying in for.
